About the event
The reason for this letter is to invite you to a global conversation celebrating the Life and Legacy of Dr. Edwards as a Pentecostal, Evangelical, and Ecumenist Church leader and Scholar. This conversation is not only to memorialize and celebrate Dr. Edwards but to ask critical questions about the future intersections of Black Pentecostal and Evangelical dialogue in a Post Edwards Era. There will be a particular focus on racial justice and poverty which were two areas in which Dr. Joel Edwards made significant inroads and contributions to the church and our world. The question is where do we go from here?
The Alliance for Black Pentecostal Scholarship will be hosting a discussion engaging the life, legacy, scholarship, and the public intellectual work of Dr. Joel Edwards and would like you to be a part of the panel. Dr. Edwards was a keen participant in the Alliance discussions, particularly during the global protest and racial tension arising from the killing of George Floyd and around issues concerning the global pandemic.
This discussion will take place on December 11, 2021, at 5.00 PM UK Time. It will be in a Zoom Webinar format, and we will make it available more widely online via YouTube.
